"The Clarke Culinary Center in Norwalk is giving us entree into the world of the trained chef, allowing voyeuristic home cooks throughout southern Connecticut the chance to watch, smell, taste and touch alongside some of the best chefs in the area. This series launched in September 2009 and features some of the most talented and well-known chefs in our area including Matt Storch of Match in Norwalk; Fritz Knipschildt of Knipschildt Chocolatier; Andy Husbands of Tremont 647; Ming Tsai, Food Network personality and owner of Blue Ginger; and Jean-Louis Gerin, owner of Jean-Louis; Regina Dvorak, the Clarke Corporate Chef, and the Chefs at Barcelona Restaurant Group."

The Conscious Cook Takes a Class at The Clarke Culinary Center!

Robin Glowa, a culinary and nutrition writer known as “the conscious cook,” just took a class at The Clarke Culinary Center in South Norwalk. “ The classroom kitchen is awesome, she said. And her description of walking through the showroom calls it “a droolfest.” Check out her blogpost...the preamble to a newspaper article that will run in 18 Hersam Acorn newspapers in Fairfield County later this month!

The Clarke Culinary Center and SoNo Showroom Win 2010 KBB Design Award

The April issue of Kitchen + Bath Business (KBB) announced that Clarke Connecticut earned one of the 12 KBB Design Awards this year. The Clarke Culinary Center design and the largest Concetto by Caesarstone display, which is an Asian-inspired kitchen in the SoNo showroom, both garnered national industry attention. New England Design Community Fills Clarke Showroom for Awards on St. Patrick’s Day

The three New England regional winning projects in the 2008/2009 international Sub-Zero/Wolf Kitchen Design Contest were recognized at Clarke's Third Annual Designer Appreciation Night on St. Patrick’s Day. Photos of the award-winning kitchens by David Hacin of Hacin + Associates of Boston, Stephanie Horowitz of ZeroEnergy Design and Donna Venegas of Venegas and Company, both of Boston, and Charles Snyder of Kitchens by Deane, Stamford, CT, were projected on a giant video screen while Clarke General Manager Sean Clarke narrated the projects. These designers will soon be leaving for Sub-Zero/Wolf’s awards ceremony in West Palm Beach, Florida. Be sure to check out the winning kitchens below in our Design Gallery.

Clarke Launches MA Culinary Center
March 12, 2010

Milford, MA - Appliance distributor Clarke is opening The Clarke Culinary Center, a home chef school, within its Resource Center located here. The opening, which takes place this month, follows the introduction of a similar school in the company's South Norwalk, CT-based center this past fall.
"We have long offered cooking classes for customers who purchase Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances through one of our retail dealers," commented Tom Clarke, president and CEO of Clarke. "However, we have always been asked if we have cooking classes open to the public."
To meet increasing demand, the company has remodeled both showroom sites to accommodate its celebrity chef series, hosted by renowned local chefs. The series will be expanding to include wine tastings, flower arranging and other personal lifestyle classes, notes the company.

Clarke Wins Prism Advertising Award

On October 14 th the Builders Association of Greater Boston held their bi-annual Prism Award gala. Clarke was awarded the first place Gold Award in the Best Print Advertisement category. Jim Raftus (Left) , Corporate Marketing Manager, and Sean Clarke (Right) , General Manager, accepted the award during an Academy Awards style ceremony.

The company’s “Hopscotch” ad was praised for its blending of the tenor of the economy with the fun of the Clarke showroom experience. Debra Burke (Center), Clarke Business Development Representative, was not only the Chairperson of the event but also acted as co-emcee for the evening.
